How do I know if I have mold in my home?

What's the difference between mold removal and mold remediation?

Mold removal means taking out materials that have mold on them. Mold remediation is a full process that includes inspection, containment, removal, antimicrobial treatment, drying, and making sure your air is safe again. At Xtreme Restoration, we handle the entire remediation process, not just surface cleaning.

Is mold remediation covered by homeowner's insurance?

It depends on what caused the mold. If it’s from a sudden event your policy covers, like a burst pipe or storm flooding, insurance often pays for it. Mold from slow leaks or neglect usually isn’t covered. We can help you document the problem and work through your claim.

Is it safe to stay in my home during mold remediation?

We live an hour from Rapid City and they came out right away when 3 other companies wouldn’t even return my phone call.  They did a fantastic job getting us back to normal very quickly.  We have also had them clean our carpets twice.  They do an outstanding job.    They have the extra tools needed to get the pet hair out of our carpet.  I feel that is what puts their quality above the rest.  I would highly recommend them for water damage restoration, carpet cleaning, and upholstery cleaning. I have been using them for carpet cleaning for years, and Taylor and his crew went above and beyond on my last call to them! I had water in my basement, and within a few hours Taylor was there to figure out the fix! They instantly got the carpet pulled back, foam padding ripped up, humidifier going and Sheetrock removed to find the leak! They communicated very well and were always on time over the next few days as stuff dried up and the leak was repaired! Xtreme Restoration provided exceptional, prompt service.  Starting at 11pm on night of leak and then for the next 5 days. Taylor and his team provided guidance throughout entire process. Xtreme restoration arrived before the plumber and started to immediately clean up.  They removed damaged sheetrock and mopped up standing water. Once plumber repaired leak, Xtreme provided dehumidifiers and fans to dry up the  area. Xtreme helped find drywall repair experts, painters and trim experts to get our home back to the way it looked before. Finally, Xtreme came back and vacuumed carpeting and mopped vinyl flooring.
